Cleaning Stove Burners

Pinterest is my new addiction. I love looking for new ways to make my household chores easier. I came across this idea and I jumped on it!! Amazed at the results!

Yes, I  know my grills were bad. I was standing my ground in having my hubby be the one to scrub these. Well as you can see I was losing my battle. I now will do them myself and he can focus on making sure he takes out the garbage and helping with other chores 😉

Place stove burner in Ziploc bag, pour 1/4 c. of ammonia, soak overnight

Wipe it down with a wet sponge (I added dish soap)

Your job is done!!
Can’t take credit for this amazing tip, here is the blog I found it in The V Spot: Cleaning Stove Burners
THANK YOU, V SPOT!!

  1. So I tried this last night, and it didn't work for me. The (all pupose) ammonia has been around awhile…would that matter? Also, I used a kitchen trash bag with the cinch and just tied it, should I have used a twist tie as well? I'm going to try it again as nothing will get these grates and burners clean.

  2. That trick has been around for ever. I used to watch my grandmom clean any grates, stoveburner etc with ammonia. it has ben a cleaning option since at least the '60s when I knew of it, if course blogs make it easy to spread the word…
